Hemingway's on Grace Bay Beach is an award-winning Turks and Caicos restaurant offering a range of exciting menu items, including the freshest seafood dishes, French toast, black bean salsa, and traditional eggs benedict. The establishment has a casual atmosphere that both locals and tourists love, with outdoor seating surrounded by palm trees and views over the sea.
Our favorite seafood dish is its lightly spaced and pan-friend grouper, served with veggie salsa, charred onions, corn, carrots, black beans, and red and green peppers. Seafood lovers should also try the restaurants' pesto cream penne salsa with sauteéd shrimp or the catch of the day. Other options include Caribbean jerk chicken dishes and a range of gourmet sandwiches and entree salads.
This restaurant is primarily for people who want to try a selection of different styles of Caribbean cuisine. Seafood ranks highly on the menu but you get a lot of choices. While the restaurant's menu is friendly to beginner palates, it also offers more exotic dishes that more experienced diners will love.
Thanks to the catch of the day special, dinner menus change daily, meaning there's always something new to try. That's great for people staying in the nearby resort who don't want to travel to find new places to eat every night.
Bay Bistro is another fabulous restaurant in Turks and Caicos Islands attached to the Sibonné Beach Hotel. Much of the seating is outside, often on the beach itself, helping guests feel more connected to the landscape and natural beauty of the area.
Bay Bistro serves a range of local dishes, including conch fritters with spicy orange sauce and roasted potatoes and its signature skewered fresh snapper with curry sauce and mango chutney. Other fresh seafood dishes include spiced shrimp with mango salsa and sour cream, Bubba Shrimp (where you can choose between coconut-crusted, garlic, or grilled with lime), and blackened fish with curry slaw.
Like many other top restaurants in Turks and Caicos, Bay Bistro serves a broad range of food throughout the day to cater to individual tastes. Breakfast options include build-a-bagel, French toast with eggs, fruit plates, pancakes, and omelets. You can also opt for the full-house breakfast that comes with two golden pancakes, two eggs, sausage and bacon, hash browns, and an English muffin. For dinner, there's grilled tenderloin of beef, pecan-crusted conch, and jerk lamb chops. And desserts include key lime pie, homemade ice cream, warm banana tart, and Bambara rum punch cake.
Ultimately, Bay Bistro is for vacationers looking for a large selection of food in a romantic setting. It serves local seafood dishes but doesn't neglect other options, giving you more choices
Kitchen 218 is another Grace Bay eating establishment offering fine dining at scale. The restaurant serves contemporary Caribbean cuisine, with vegetarian and vegan options. Found at 218 Lower Bight near Providenciales, it is next to the pool and sun loungers, letting you make a day of it.
Kitchen 218 originally served French-style food as an alternative to the predominantly seafood-based cuisine on the island. It then moved over to creating fusion dishes based on local flavors, Mediterranean, and Asian food, evolving and adapting to the times, similar to the famous Coco Bistro. You can see this heritage and evolution in the dishes it offers when you dine there. The amuse-bouche feels incredibly French, while the conch chowder reminds you that you're squarely in the Caribbean.
The standout dish is the poached lobster. Chefs prepare an entire lobster tail with a quill of pickled cucumbers, wasabi cream, salmon caviar, and yellow chili foam and present it on a blue slate.
The other dish to try is the garlic-marinated grilled lobster tail. Here you get a Caicos grilled lobster served with vegetables, mashed potatoes, and a signature beurre blanc sauce, similar to Coco Bistro.
This Grace Bay Beach restaurant is for people who love fine dining and want to sample local seafood at its best. Kitchen 218 cooks using fresh produce, offering superb cuisine in the most romantic setting on the island. It's well worth a visit.
Provence by Eric, Providenciales is an evening-only restaurant, opening at 6 PM, offering a wide array of weekly specials and a blind five-course tasting menu with wine pairing. It is one of the best restaurants in Turks and Caicos. Not only is the food exceptional, but the setting is also welcoming and unusual.
What makes it unique? We think it's the venue's "chef's table." Here, diners sit around the food preparation area, watching everything in the open kitchen. You can chat with the chefs as they prepare your food and ask them to do things, like add extra garlic or chili.
What's pleasant about the experience is that the chefs are genuinely happy to talk to you, offering the same level of hospitality that made the Caicos Islands famous. They immediately make you feel at home, even while preparing high-quality dishes. It's like talking to an old friend.
As you might guess from its name, Provence by Eric is an almost exclusively French dinner service. Main course options include le filet de boeuf (beef cooked with foie gras, black truffle jus, and slow-roasted Jerusalem artichokes), le filet de veau de lait roti (milk sous vide veal loin with caramelized Belgian endive and wild mushroom puree), and le duo de Canette aux Griottines (a duck duo where the breast is roasted and the leg comes as a confit).
You can also order a rare Iberico pork dish from the distinctive Black Iberian Pig, native to parts of the Iberian peninsula. It has a distinctively nutty and evocative flavor and is arguably the best item on the menu. You feel like it is transporting you back hundreds of years to a time when food was more natural and honest when eating it.
In summary, Provence by Eric is for diners who want a memorable dining experience. It offers superb French-inspired dishes and local beer.
If you're on South Caicos Island, you should also check out The Great House's collection of culinary experiences. Here, you can enjoy dining in a range of delightful settings.
For instance., The Cove Restaurant and Beach Bar on Sailrock Beach offers casual dining and delightful sunset views over the Atlantic. The creative menu changes regularly to bring you the freshest local seafood. It's the ideal location to wear island chic.
Another venue, The Great House Restaurant and Bar on Caicos Bank has a wrap-around terrace for dining late into the evening. The menu incorporates seasonal ingredients and the catch of the day, caught in the morning by local fishermen. Appetizers include chilled roasted potato soup, snapper crudo, and shrimp chowder. The mains are citrus-marinated grilled tuna, penne pasta and roasted vegetables, stuffed beef tenderloin, chicken cacciatore, and grilled lobster.
While the menu might sound basic, the chefs prepare it to an exceptionally high standard. The Great House is a beautiful venue for savoring unique flavors you may struggle to find elsewhere in the local area.
If you're looking for conch fritters and rum punch, then Da Conch Shack near Blue Hills is the place to be. Like many Turks and Caicos restaurants, it offers a relaxed setting next to Grace Bay and the largest palm grove in the area. It's the perfect place for nourishing body and soul, offering steak, chicken, ribs, and fresh seafood, all while the waves gently lap the beach! Top menu items include many conch dishes, such as conch chowder, conch fritters, fresh conch, and cracked conch. You can also get special French fries drizzled in black bean and local pepper sauce – a local fast food favorite!
Da Conch Shack doubles as a music venue with events running throughout the week. Listen to banging island tunes daily or show up for live music on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Mid-week, the venue hires DJs from 5 PM who continue blasting out tunes until midnight, while live performances start at 1 PM on the weekend.
Interestingly, the Conch Shack features in 1,000 Places to See Before You Die, a travel book by Patricia Schultz. Expect a colorful, vibrant atmosphere with plenty of palm trees and a party feel.
The Deck restaurant, based at Seven Stars Resort and Spa, is close to Coco Bistro. Chefs here craft superb cuisine from the island's bountiful seafood while guests enjoy open-air dining, overlooking an azure-blue ocean and pristine white-sand beaches.
The Deck is a distinctly casual venue for guests who want a lazy afternoon enjoying the fine weather. Popular menu options include sundowners, ceviche, and savory island-inspired fare. There's no need to dress up here.
Part of Grace Bay Club, Infiniti Restaurant & Raw Bar is a premier gourmet oceanfront restaurant in Turks And Caicos, located a stone's throw from Turtle Cove Marina. Here, you can enjoy sophisticated dining in a chic atmosphere while listening to the sound of waves lapping the shore of nearby Grace Bay Beach.
Infinity Restaurant & Raw Bar offers a healthy selection of food for diners to enjoy. Highlights include fresh fish, charred octopus, roasted heritage beets salad, oak wood-grilled sea bream, and truffle butter-roasted celeriac. There are also various vegetarian and vegan options for those looking for a meat-free meal and an entire Japanese speakeasy menu. Kids' food options are available for families looking for a stress-free experience.
Please note the restaurant only opens in the evenings from 6 PM. Diners sit under an attractive pergola with lantern-style lighting, enjoying the ocean panorama. Dim lighting helps to create a romantic atmosphere, making it perfect for couples.
The Sandbar Restaurant is just a few steps from Manta House on Grand Turk, offering a quintessential beach bar experience. Open for lunch and dinner every day except Saturday, the menu includes fresh conch, grouper, lobster bites, wahoo, and mahi mahi. You can also enjoy chicken and ribs with island-style peas and rice, shrimp quesadillas, ice-cold beers, and rum punch.
Sandbar offers daily specials to keep guests interested, as you might expect from a restaurant away from the main island. These include coconut pie, Greek chicken salad, curried chicken, fish bites, and roast pork.
Please note the Sandbar is an extremely casual experience. Many guests arrive wearing their beach clothes, and the tables are packed closely together, with many people crowding around them. With that said, the food is excellent, and the venue remains surprisingly popular, despite being some way off the beaten track.
Lastly, we have Mudjin Bar and Grill near Dragon Cay Resort. The grill located in Middle Caicos offers some of the best views you'll find anywhere in the territory. Diners sit on a covered, raised terrace on a bluff overlooking the surrounding beach and open ocean. In the distance, an attractive rock formation stretches into the water.
Mudjin Bar and Grill offers daily lunches and dinners. The former focuses on local dishes, such as conch bites and fritters, while dinner is by reservation only, with a menu centering on the daily specials. Vegetarian options are available, but limited, and vegan food may be hard to come by. Some diners love the spicy fries, but others don't: so you've been warned!
Now you know the best restaurants in Turks and Caicos, you are ready to venture to the island. While most are close to Central Grace Bay, there's a smattering elsewhere, including on Great Turk – great for those who love exploring.
